Backpack first aid kits
The goal of First Aid First Day is to help children have basic first aid supplies available when they may need them.
As the program grows, portable first aid kits can be provided for children to carry in their school backpacks. The kits are designed for simple, age-appropriate first aid needs and are meant to support — not replace — help from a trusted adult or emergency services.
Children will also learn what the supplies are for, how to use them safely, and when they should stop and get an adult.
For schools & Youth organizations
First Aid First Day is available for schools, churches, after-school programs, youth centers, and community organizations serving children ages 9 and up.
Lewis CPR Training works with each organization to coordinate the age group, number of participants, scheduling, supervision, and any required permissions.
The free 30-minute introductory demonstration gives organizations an opportunity to introduce children to practical first aid and emergency-safety skills before scheduling expanded hands-on training.
Programs may also work with Lewis CPR Training on future first aid kit distribution and additional training opportunities for their children and families.
growing the program
First Aid First Day is designed to grow beyond the introductory demonstration.
As community partnerships develop, Lewis CPR Training plans to offer expanded hands-on first aid education, additional youth training opportunities, and broader distribution of backpack first aid kits.
Schools, churches, youth organizations, community partners, and sponsors can help support the program by hosting training, helping reach more children, or supporting first aid kit distribution.
The goal is to build a stronger, safer community by giving more children practical first aid knowledge, confidence, and access to basic supplies.
support the program
The free 30-minute introductory demonstration is offered at no cost to participating schools and youth organizations.
Organizations, businesses, and community partners may also support First Aid First Day through a $250 program sponsorship.
A $250 sponsorship helps support youth first aid education, training materials, and the purchase and distribution of portable first aid kits for children.
Sponsorship is optional and is separate from the free introductory demonstration.
